What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Comments posted (Blog)
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Contact form
The information you provide via the website contact form is used simply for the purpose of responding to your enquiry. This information is not stored or shared with any third party.
Cookies
Cookies are small pieces of data generated by a website you visit and saved by your web browser. A cookie file is stored in your web browser and allows the service or a third¬ party to recognise you and make your next visit easier and the service more useful to you.
Cookies can be either ‘session’ or ‘persistent’. Session cookies are temporary and are deleted when the browser is closed. These types of cookies are often used by e commerce sites to store items placed in your shopping cart, and can serve other purposes as well. Persistent cookies are designed to store data for extended periods of time. Each persistent cookie is created with an expiration date, which may be any time from a few days to several years. Once the expiration date is reached, the cookie is automatically deleted. Persistent cookies are what allow websites to remember you for two weeks, a month, a year or other amount of time, such as where a password login is required.
Most web browsers save all cookies in a single file and allow you to view your cookies in the browser preferences, typically within the ‘privacy’ or ‘security’ tab. Some browsers allow you to delete specific cookies or prevent cookies from being created. While disallowing cookies in your browser may provide greater security, it is not recommended since many websites require cookies to function correctly.
If you leave a comment on the site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you had visited the website of origin.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content.
Analytics
We may use analytics on this site for generic user information such as geographical and device information.

This site uses WooCommerce and Paypal for transactions. We retain only your contact information in order to process your order. We do not have access to or retain any transactional information such as card details or numbers. Both PayPal and WooCommerce have their own GDPR policies which can be accessed via their websites.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
What rights you have over your data
You may request details of personal information we hold about you under The Data Protection Act 1998, a small fee may be payable. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
