Behind the scenes: celebration, inspiration — and a parrot named Elvis!

From in-person to global connections, birthday joy and brilliant ideas… just some of the gifts from this past month.

This month has had such a lovely mixture of connection, creativity, learning, and celebration. A beautiful blend of teaching, inspiration, and joy!

Workshops & Connection

I had the pleasure of co-teaching a PSYCH-K® Basic Workshop In-Person in Birmingham, alongside Cazzie and a wonderful group, full of openness, curiosity, and heart. It’s so special being in the same room together, witnessing those real-time transformations, the lightbulb moments, and the trust that builds so quickly.

We also co-taught a PSYCH-K® Online Level 1 workshop with a truly beautiful global group – participants joined from France, South Africa, Norway, Morocco, and Israel. The diversity of perspectives always brings a richness to the experience. And in true online magic, at one point everybody’s pets decided to join in… including a beautiful parrot called Elvis. It was pure fun and had us all laughing.

Birthday Moments

It was my birthday in October, and I made sure to weave in some rest, celebration, and nourishment. A lovely spa visit… a wander around a stunning ceramic store that transported me straight to Portugal with its beautiful Portuguese pottery… and a delicious brunch on my birthday itself. Simple, joyful moments and exactly what I needed.

Light Night Leeds

I also went along to Light Night Leeds, one of my favourite annual events. The city comes alive with colour, sound, and beautiful immersive light installations. Wandering through the illuminated streets felt magical – a reminder of how art can reconnect us to awe and wonder in an instant.

Inspiration from Leeds International Festival of Ideas

Another highlight was attending the Leeds International Festival of Ideas, which is always such a tonic for the mind and soul. This year, I attended a panel discussion entitled “Who picks up the tab for a hospitable city?” featuring Fred Sirieix and other brilliant voices.

They explored the complex, often hidden challenges behind hospitality – the pressures, the opportunities, and what needs to change for cities to truly thrive. I left, as always, feeling completely inspired. There’s something so energising about listening to people who care deeply about creating change.

Final Thoughts

This month has reminded me of the power of connection:
The connections we create in workshops,
The connections we find in creativity and culture,
And the connection we deepen with ourselves through moments of rest, celebration, and inspiration.

As you read this, perhaps take a moment to check in with your own month:
Where did joy find you?
Where did inspiration surprise you?
And what’s one small thing you could do in the coming weeks to bring more of that into your life?

Sending you so much love,
Sharon xo
